General Terms and Conditions of Sale
Last Updated: 16 April 2026
1. Seller Identity and Contact Information
These General Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern all purchases made through the Japan Best EU online store (the "Site"), operated by:
CLIOR Consulting S.Ã r.l.
Legal form: Societe a responsabilite limitee (S.a r.l.) incorporated under Luxembourg law
Registered address: 21 Rue Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, 7209 Walferdange, Luxembourg
Commercial Register: RCS Luxembourg B 195168
Business Permit: No 10055588 / 0
Email: contact@japanbest.eu
Telephone: We do not provide telephone support. All enquiries must be submitted by email to contact@japanbest.eu.
IOSS Registration Number: IM-PENDING
By placing an order on the Site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full.
2. Membership and Eligibility
- Age requirement: You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and purchase from the Site. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
- Member-only access: Browsing and purchasing products requires a valid registered account. Registration is free of charge.
- One account per person: Each individual may hold only one account. Duplicate registrations, use of false identities, or any suspected fraudulent use may result in immediate account suspension and order cancellation, without prior notice.
- Account responsibility: You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. Accounts may not be transferred to or shared with third parties.
3. Sales Methods
The Site operates two distinct sales formats:
3.1 General Sale
Products listed under General Sale are available on a first-come, first-served basis while stocks last. Adding an item to your cart does not reserve stock; a reservation is only created upon successful order submission.
3.2 Draw-based Sale (Right-to-Purchase Lottery)
Certain limited-edition products are allocated through a draw. The draw determines who receives a Right to Purchase (not an immediate sale). Entering a draw carries no obligation to buy and requires no payment.
- Application is free: No payment information is required to enter a draw. Entry is open to all registered members during the application window.
- Winners: Successful applicants are notified by email and must complete their purchase within the deadline specified in that notification. At the time of purchase, a card authorisation (hold) is placed for the full product price. The actual charge is collected only after we have verified stock and completed a pre-shipment quality inspection. Non-selected applicants are not sent a separate email; they may however be promoted to winner status if a selected applicant forfeits their Right to Purchase. Applicants can check their application status at any time via their account page.
- Expiry of right: If the purchase is not completed within the stated deadline, the Right to Purchase expires automatically and may be offered to the next eligible applicant.
- No cancellation after authorisation: Once a winner has authorised payment, the order may not be cancelled. Returns are accepted in accordance with Section 8 of these Terms.
- No gambling element: No fee is charged to enter a draw, and no prize of monetary value is awarded. The draw solely determines purchase eligibility.
4. Pricing and Taxes
- All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
- Shipping costs are calculated and displayed at checkout before payment.
- IOSS and VAT on imports: For shipments with a total order value of EUR 150 or less, VAT is collected at checkout under the EU Import One-Stop-Shop (IOSS) scheme (IOSS number: IM-PENDING). This means no additional import taxes or customs charges should be due upon delivery for orders within this threshold.
- Order cap: We currently do not accept orders with a total value exceeding EUR 150, in order to maintain full IOSS compliance and ensure a seamless duty-free delivery experience.
- Prices are subject to change without notice and do not affect orders already confirmed.
5. Contract Formation and Payment
5.1 How a Contract is Formed
Your order constitutes an offer to purchase. A legally binding sales contract is formed only when we confirm and capture payment - which occurs after we have verified stock availability and completed a pre-shipment quality inspection of your items. Until that point, no contract exists and no charge is applied.
5.2 Payment Authorisation
Upon order submission (for general-sale orders) or upon completing the winner payment step (for lottery orders), a temporary card authorisation (hold) is placed on your payment method. The actual charge is processed only once stock has been confirmed and the pre-shipment inspection is passed. For lottery orders, no payment information is collected at the time of application.
5.3 Inspection Failure
If a quality defect is discovered during inspection and no replacement stock is available, we will cancel your order and release the card authorisation in full. You will not be charged.
5.4 Payment Methods
We accept card payments processed securely through Revolut Business. No other payment methods are currently available.
6. Shipping and Delivery
For a consumer-friendly summary of our shipping options, costs, and tracking, see our Shipping Information page.
- Origin: All orders are dispatched from our warehouse in Japan.
- Carrier: Japan Post International e-Packet Light (tracked international parcel service with a tracking number provided).
- Estimated delivery: 14 to 35 business days from the date of payment capture under normal circumstances.
- Maximum delivery deadline: 60 calendar days from the date of payment capture. In the unlikely event your order has not arrived by this date, please contact us immediately.
- Destination: We ship to addresses within the European Union only.
7. Order Cancellation by the Customer
Because orders enter our fulfilment pipeline (inspection, consolidation, and international shipping preparation) immediately after submission, we are generally unable to cancel or modify orders once they have been placed - even prior to payment capture.
If you wish to cancel, please contact us at contact@japanbest.eu as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to stop processing if the order has not yet been dispatched. If cancellation is not possible before dispatch, please use your statutory Right of Withdrawal described in Section 8 upon receipt of the goods.
8. Right of Withdrawal (EU Statutory Right)
For a step-by-step guide to requesting a return, see our Returns and Refunds page.
8.1 Your Right
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 calendar days of the day you (or a third party you designate) receive the goods, without giving any reason.
8.2 How to Exercise Your Right
To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must notify us before the 14-day period expires by sending a clear statement to:
CLIOR Consulting S.Ã r.l.
Email: contact@japanbest.eu
You may use the Model Withdrawal Form provided in Section 11 below, but it is not obligatory.
8.3 Return of Goods
After notifying us of your withdrawal, you must return the goods to our Luxembourg address (which will be communicated to you upon request) without undue delay and no later than 14 days after notifying us. Goods must be returned in their original, resalable condition with all accessories, tags, and packaging intact.
8.4 Return Shipping Costs
The cost of return shipping is borne by the customer. You were informed of this obligation prior to placing your order, as required by Article 14(1) of the Consumer Rights Directive.
8.5 Refund
We will refund the purchase price and the standard outbound shipping cost paid by you (we do not refund any supplemental costs if you chose an express or premium delivery option at your own initiative) within 14 days of receiving your withdrawal notification - or within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, whichever is later. Refunds are issued to the original payment method.
8.6 Diminished Value
We may deduct an amount reflecting any diminished value of the goods where that loss in value results from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods (e.g., goods that show signs of use, missing accessories, or damaged packaging).
8.7 Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- Sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons, where the seal has been broken after delivery.
- Goods that have been clearly personalised or made to your specification.
- Goods which, by their nature, have become inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.
9. Defective and Incorrect Goods
9.1 Reporting
If you receive a defective, damaged, or incorrect item, please contact us at contact@japanbest.eu promptly after delivery, including your order number and clear photographic or video evidence of the issue.
9.2 Return Process
Upon our confirmation of your claim, you will be asked to return the item to our Luxembourg address. Please do not send goods back without our prior written authorisation.
9.3 Full Cost Reimbursement
For confirmed defective or incorrect goods, you will be fully reimbursed. Once we have received and verified the returned item, we will refund:
- The product purchase price;
- The original outbound shipping cost; and
- The return shipping costs you incurred (supported by receipt or proof of postage).
We ask that you advance the return shipping cost and provide a receipt; the amount will be refunded to your original payment method within 14 days of our receipt and verification of the returned goods.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on this Site - including text, images, logos, graphics, and software - is owned by or licensed to CLIOR Consulting S.a r.l. and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without our prior written permission.
11. Model Withdrawal Form

12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Luxembourg law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or connected to these Terms or a purchase shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant products. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by these Terms.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
13.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. As a consumer resident in an EU member state, you also benefit from the mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence.
13.2 Amicable Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first at contact@japanbest.eu so that we can seek an amicable solution. We aim to respond within 7 business days. If interpretation differences arise between language versions, the English version is used for interpretation purposes only. This does not affect mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.
13.3 Online Dispute Resolution (ODR)
Pursuant to Regulation (EU) No 524/2013, the European Commission provides an Online Dispute Resolution platform, accessible at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. Our contact email address for ODR purposes is contact@japanbest.eu. Availability and operation of the platform depend on the competent EU institutions and may change over time.
13.4 Competent Courts
If amicable or ODR resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings before the courts of your own EU member state of residence.
14. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We distinguish between two categories of change:
14.1 Minor Changes (immediate effect)
Changes that do not materially affect your rights or obligations - such as adding new payment methods, adding new delivery options, correcting typographical errors, or any change that is neutral or beneficial to you - take effect upon publication on the Site. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. No advance notice is required, though we may notify you by email at our discretion.
14.2 Material Changes (15-day advance notice)
Changes that could materially affect your rights or obligations - such as alterations to the order value cap, modifications to return or cancellation policies, or any change that reduces your rights as a consumer - will be communicated to registered members by email at least 15 calendar days before taking effect. The notification will include a plain-language summary of what has changed and a link to the updated Terms.
If you do not wish to be bound by the revised Terms, you may close your account by contacting us at contact@japanbest.eu before the effective date. Continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14.3 Orders Already Placed
Any order you have already placed is governed by the version of these Terms that was in effect at the time your order was confirmed. Changes to these Terms do not affect contracts already formed.
14.4 Version History
A record of all published versions is maintained in Section 16 - Version History below, so you can always verify what Terms applied on any given date.
